Do you remember Vianne Rocher (played by the wonderfully talented Juliette Binoche) from the film Chocolat? Or, perhaps you were a fan of the novel of the same name written by Joanne Harris? I enjoyed both formats, but mostly because I could relate to the lead character and her notion that the winds showed signs of change — though there’s also the thing about my loving France.
Vianne had a thirst for adventure; for finding new towns, meeting new people, and of course for spreading her delightful, inspirational message of chocolate across Europe. While I’m not much of a deliverer of sweet confections — though I do love the occasional chocolaty treat — I desire the excitement of experiencing new cultures, learning as much as I can of new languages from the people I meet abroad, and being led on a journey by following the changing winds.
I am in need of a new adventure! Time to start planning.
The whimsical opening line of the novel: “We came on the wind of the carnival.”
(Also, if you love France as much as I do, and are traveling to Paris any time soon, check out my friend’s blog: A French Frye in Paris! Corey really knows his stuff about the city.)

Short, and of course, sweet, a verbal confection delivered with the perfect sprinkling of chocolaty perfection. RML
Thank you for your kind words! Brandi
Thanks for the shout out Brandi! Hope to see you back in Paris one day!
Your welcome, Corey! Meant what I said. Your historical and architectural tour of the Marais was insightful and fun!
